Year 2025 – WordCamps, Travel, Family, and New Contribution Paths

As 2025 ends, I pause and look back at a year that moved fast and took me far. I traveled for WordCamps, met friends from the WordPress community, reunited with my wife in Australia, celebrated family moments in Sydney, and hit a major milestone in my open-source contribution journey.

This post captures the memories, the lessons, and the energy that shaped my 2025.

WordCamp Ahmedabad 2025

I started 2025 with a trip to Ahmedabad for WordCamp Ahmedabad as a keynote speaker. I met WordPress friends, learned from sessions, and recharged my community spirit early in the year. I always leave a WordCamp with new ideas, new motivation, and a stronger sense of purpose.

WordCamp Asia 2025, Philippines

February turned into a full travel and community month. I attended WordCamp Asia 2025 in Manila and spent time exploring the city between the event energy. I shared laughs, joined parties, and enjoyed the kind of moments that happen when the community meets in person.

Before the camp, I visited Palawan Island and Cebu, then kept exploring more places around Manila. I extended the trip with a stop in Singapore and visited key landmarks there. The mix of WordPress, travel, and fun made February feel like a highlight reel.

March and April: WordCamp Nepal 2025

In March and April, I attended WordCamp Nepal 2025 in Kathmandu. I love this camp because it brings familiar faces together and pulls new contributors into the community.

During this same period, I traveled to Australia to meet my wife. She started living here in May 2024, so this time together meant a lot. I spent that visit catching up on life, sharing time that distance usually steals, and resetting my mind before the next busy stretch.

WordCamp Johor Bahru Malaysia

May brought another big moment. I spoke at WordCamp Johor Bahru 2025 in Malaysia. Speaking always pushes me to organize my thoughts, share what I learn, and give something back to the community that keeps giving me opportunities.

I visited Singapore during this trip as well. I treated it like a short refresh, then jumped back into work and contribution mode.

WordCamp Europe Switzerland

June took me to Basel, Switzerland for WordCamp Europe 2025. I met contributors from many countries, learned from sessions, and felt that “global WordPress” feeling again.

After Basel, I traveled through parts of Europe and explored Germany, France (Paris), Luxembourg, and Portugal. I visited popular places, tried local food, and captured memories that I will keep for a long time. I even visited a landmark that marks the “edge of Europe” feeling for many travelers, and that moment made the whole trip feel real.

It was great experience to meet WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg and other WordPress contributors.

Me and my friend Shiva recored a podcast infront of Eiffel Tower, which was a great experience.

Brother’s wedding in Sydney

July brought a family milestone. I attended my brother’s wedding in Sydney. Family events hit different after months of flights, events, and deadlines. I stayed present, celebrated with everyone, and felt grateful for the people who always feel like home. It was a happy moment that me and my wife attended that event together.

WordPress contributions in 2025: Milestones and New Responsibilities

Travel gave me stories, but contribution gave the year its deeper meaning.

7,000 Themes Reviewed

In July 2025, I shared a major milestone: I reviewed 7,000 WordPress themes.
That number represents years of consistency and careful work. It represents trust from the community, responsibility to users, and respect for guidelines that protect the ecosystem.

10 years of reviewing WordPress Themes

In October 2025, I celebrated 10 years of reviewing WordPress themes. I started on August 5, 2015, and reviewed my first theme named Loney.

Over time, I moved from learning the basics to mentoring, joining team work, supporting review tools, and contributing to a safer theme ecosystem.

Joining the Plugins Team

This year, I joined the WordPress Plugins Team as a new chapter in contribution.

I look forward to learning new review systems, understanding plugin trust and safety deeper, and supporting another core part of WordPress.

Looking ahead to 2026

I plan to keep the momentum going in 2026. I look forward to WordCamp Asia 2026, where I will serve as an organizer, plus WordCamp Europe and more WordCamps and open-source events through the year.

I want to keep doing the same things that shaped 2025:

  • Show up for the community
  • Contribute with consistency
  • Learn in public
  • Support new contributors
  • Stay grateful for the people behind the work

Closing

2025 gave me travel, WordCamps, family celebrations, and real progress in open source. I feel thankful for every person I met at events, every team member I worked with, and every friend who made the year lighter.

I’ll carry these memories into 2026 with new goals and the same love for WordPress and open source.

Thank you Rank Math family for making this possible.
